M.I.L.A.D Foundation Inc. took its first breath as a fully structured organization on the 17th of April in 2010 publicly. We initiated by celebrating Gyarhween Shareef for the first time in the history of Milwaukee.
However, since 1997 in Milwaukee, without any organization name or forum, the establishing founders of M.I.L.A.D Foundation had then successfully organized many public events; around the same time when Al-Quran Masjid (Brown Deer Rd. Milwaukee) began its services. One of our first events was a Mehfil-e-Naat - which also happened to be the first Milad Shareef to have ever been celebrated in Milwaukee, where we were honored to have, Naat reciter and lyricists the Late Qamar Anjum Sahab as our chief guest.
Introducing our religious observance to commemorate and celebrate Islamic Holy and significant days and events, M.I.L.A.D Foundation’s brothers and sisters celebrated the first-ever Mawlid of our Beloved Prophet
Besides Milad Shareef (Mawlid) of our Beloved Prophet
Moreover, M.I.L.A.D Foundation's members were and are blessed to remember how important all the months of our Calendar are and held at least one event every moon to bring the significance of each month into the light for our community to celebrate and understand. For example, remembering the history of Shohda-e-Karbala, honoring Yaum-e-Raza, Zikr-e-Ilahi in first ten nights of ZilHajj and remembrance of Manasik-e-Hajj, and focusing on the essential days of Auliyya-e-Uz`zam-o-Sufiya-e-Karaam (RZ).
As there was an unnamed team that was continuously and tirelessly working towards the prosperity of the community while incorporating our religion into our daily lives. We thought it would be best to give it a brand to go by, a symbol for people to remember, to get closer to Islam, Qur`an, and Sunnah. We wished to make a proper order for this circle of events to become whole on a singular platform. It was then when we decided to name us and our efforts "M.I.L.A.D Foundation Inc.", which stands for Mohibban of Islamic Learning and Academic Demonstration Foundation.
We planted a small seed many years ago, and now we see it growing and thriving like a fully-grown and beautifully flourished tree, with leaves in all the best hues of green and fruits hanging low, for all of us to grasp and enjoy the sweetness from, as Allah's Blessings and Rehmah.
